  • What do bedbugs feed on?
Bedbugs need a blood meal to survive. Depending on the situation at the time of feeding, sometimes a bedbug cannot complete a feeding from one bite. This can result in multiple bites from just one bedbug.
  • Can bedbugs feed on my pets?
While bedbugs do prefer to feed on humans, they can also feed on pets if nothing else is available.
  • How often do bedbugs feed?
Bedbugs do not have a set feeding time and will feed when they need a blood meal. However, they will typically feed within 5-7 days.
  • Can I get a disease from a bedbug bite?
The short answer is no. Currently there is no evidence showing that bedbugs can transmit diseases. Though some people are allergic to the bites, causing them to itch, which could cause secondary infections.

Bedbug
Treatments

Over the past years, bedbug infestations have become more and more common. Infestations typically start off small, with as little as a few eggs, and before you know it your house can be crawling with them. They are often undetected by hiding in the piping of a mattress, behind the headboard or even inside of a boxspring mattress. Once a population of bedbugs grow they can spread throughout the home living in couches, chairs, behind electrical outlets, light switches and behind picture frames.

Unfortunately, the most common feeding source for bedbugs are humans. This means that if any level of bedbug infestation is present in your home then you and your family are the primary targets.
